The final GARTEUR Council meeting (C79) under Germany’s chairmanship has been held on Novmeber 17th & 18th in Paris.
Representatives from all member nations gathered to review progress and shape the path ahead for collaborative European aeronautics research.
Over the past two years, we achieved two important milestones that will strengthen GARTEUR’s future impact:
- A long-term cooperation with ICAS, giving GARTEUR a permanent platform for the next decade to present research at the ICAS Congress.
- The launch of key measures to streamline and improve administrative processes, enabling smoother, more efficient collaboration across the network.
Both steps will support GARTEUR’s continued visibility, attractiveness and scientific impact in the years to come.

A special highlight of the meeting was the presentation of the GARTEUR Award, recognising outstanding scientific achievement and exceptional cross-national teamwork. Congratulations to Aerodynamics GoR Action Group 60 for the work titled “Machine learning and data-driven approaches for aerodynamic optimization and uncertainty quantification (ML4AERO)”.
In representation of the research group (with over 30 participants from the GARTEUR nations) chaired by Mrs Esther Andres Perez, Mr Domenico Quagliarella was presented with the GARTEUR AWARD in PARIS. Congratulation’s to all researchers for this excellent work!!! We are already looking forward to a follow-up project that will start next year as an Exploratory Group (EG).
