On 8th of March, 2023, the 74th GARTEUR Council meeting was held at the NLR premises in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. The meeting continued on the 9th at the National Military Museum in Soesterberg, The Netherlands.
It has been the second Council meeting in presence since a long time following the on-line meetings due to the COVID19 crisis.
During the meeting, after presentations concerning the most recent developments in the fields of Aerodynamics, Flight Mechanics, Systems and Integration, Rotorcraft, Structures & Materials and Aviation Security, there was a very interesting discussion with Prof. Emmanuel Zenou, current vice-chairman of PEGASUS consortium, about the possibilities of cooperation between GARTEUR and the association of the European Universities working in aerospace. Then, it was discussed the organisation of the event for celebrating the 50th anniversary of GARTEUR that will take place in Italy on October 5-6, 2023.
The meeting on the first day coincided with the celebration of the International Women’s Day (IWD) and the chairman invited the participants to discuss this year’s theme: “DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality”. GARTEUR will periodically address and monitor gender equality within its activities, in support of the policies already put in place by the single member organisations.
In Soesterberg, south-east of Amsterdam, Daniel Mosquera, EDA PO Air Systems Technologies, gave a very interesting presentation on the state-of-play of CapTech Air, the Aerial Systems and the EU Defence Innovation Hub.
